A training session begins with a warm-up, followed by some basic solo exercises After a short meditation, the lesson continues with defense and attack training in pairs, with for example a demonstration of how to attain a specific grip and release technique and a punch/kick technique. The final part of the class is a cool-down and relaxation moment including stretching which is sometimes supplemented with pressure point massage.

Doshin So has developed hundreds of techniques, positions and forms in a teaching system which consists of practice and theory. The theoretical part is focused on the principles and logic behind the techniques, and more philosophical topics such as dealing with each other inside and outside the dojo. Team spirit and cooperation play an important role in training in this sport.

6th Kyu examination.

There are exams a few times a year when your progress will be tested. Diplomas are issued by the World Shorinji Kempo Organization which grants you access to all Shorinji Kempo dojos worldwide.
